Joel Kramer: Co-Founder LetYourNerdOut
As most peoples stories go, I have been a nerd/gamer my whole life. Never really fitting in anywhere but finding great friends as life moved on. I am a husband, a father to a 3 & 5 year old, gamer, adventurer, and foodie. Met my wife while going to Iowa State University. What I nerd about the most is video games. I started collecting retro games back in 2010 while I was managing a retro game store. Sold off my collection when my second child was born. Most nights after the family is asleep you can catch me playing online with friends. I have always aspired to be immersed in what I love, what better then to build a brand for all us nerds
Ryan Kramer; Co-Founder LetYourNerdOut
My passion for "LetYourNerdOut" began years before the concept ever even thought of. Growing up in a typical small midwestern town, people tend to be judged and stereotyped at a young age and I didn't understand why people couldn't just be who they wanted to be and have everyone be fine with it. I played video games starting from Atari & Nintendo to Playstation, XBox & PC gaming and everything in between. It was always a dream job, but that didn't happen for me. After college moved out to the big city and currently a Senior Accounts Manager for a medical supply distribution company, let's hope not for much longer! I'm a Fantasy Football & Baseball enthusiast for over 15 years (My Huge Nerd!) but enjoy many different aspects of what life has to offer via traveling, cooking, movie, sports, architecture, animals etc. to taking a random walk in the city or in the wilderness of nature to see what new adventure might bring me. I fully believe everyone should be happy with whatever their interests are, never be frowned upon.
Growing up in a small town, there were a lot of opportunities to try new things all the time. My greatest passions were swimming, gaming, and creating new and unique art. I enjoy playing almost all types of games, ranging from Donkey Kong Country to Call of Duty. Rollercoaster Tycoon was my first game where I was able to create whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Moving on to bigger games, I love pushing limits within the gaming world.
I have been coaching for almost a decade now, and through the years my greatest joy has been helping other athletes find their love for swimming. In the pool, I feel an overwhelming sense of freedom. The only limitations to success in sports are those that you put on yourself. The sport of swimming has opened a lot of doors for me, and I continue to find new opportunities to keep growing and learning.
Being a part of the LYNO community, I have enjoyed helping other gamers find their own unique style. Every gamer has their own backstory, and through our merch store we have been able to bring a lot of those ideas to life! We all have something we love doing, my goal is to help everyone let their own nerd out!
