Meet the LYNO team

Joel Kramer: Co-Founder LetYourNerdOut

As most peoples stories go, I have been a nerd/gamer my whole life. Never really fitting in anywhere but finding great friends as life moved on. I am a husband, a father to a 3 & 5 year old, gamer, adventurer, and foodie. Met my wife while going to Iowa State University. What I nerd about the most is video games. I started collecting retro games back in 2010 while I was managing a retro game store. Sold off my collection when my second child was born. Most nights after the family is asleep you can catch me playing online with friends. I have always aspired to be immersed in what I love, what better then to build a brand for all us nerds

 Ryan Kramer; Co-Founder LetYourNerdOut

My passion for "LetYourNerdOut" began years before the concept ever even thought of.  Growing up in a typical small midwestern town, people tend to be judged and stereotyped at a young age and I didn't understand why people couldn't just be who they wanted to be and have everyone be fine with it. I played video games starting from Atari & Nintendo to Playstation, XBox & PC gaming and everything in between.  It was always a dream job, but that didn't happen for me.  After college moved out to the big city and currently a Senior Accounts Manager for a medical supply distribution company, let's hope not for much longer! I'm a Fantasy Football & Baseball enthusiast for over 15 years (My Huge Nerd!) but enjoy many different aspects of what life has to offer via traveling, cooking, movie, sports, architecture, animals etc. to taking a random walk in the city or in the wilderness of nature to see what new adventure might bring me.  I fully believe everyone should be happy with whatever their interests are, never be frowned upon.

Rob Sorey: COO LetYourNerdOut
I came into the LYNO brand a year after inception. I have lived in corporate America for my whole career. Live my early life in Philadelphia/NJ. Grew up playing soccer and of course video games when i wasn't grounded. I have run small businesses before as i opened and operated my a paintball store in NJ with my good friend before moving to Iowa.
Met Joel while working in a retro gaming store in Iowa where we both had a strong passion for business and bonded over COD. We became very close which is how i met his brother Ryan. I do most of my nerding now after the wife and 2 little ones are in bed. Have a strong nerd feeling over soccer and especially my career in refereeing which took me to almost every state in the US and the 2nd highest level of soccer in the US.

Growing up in a small town, there were a lot of opportunities to try new things all the time. My greatest passions were swimming, gaming, and creating new and unique art. I enjoy playing almost all types of games, ranging from Donkey Kong Country to Call of Duty. Rollercoaster Tycoon was my first game where I was able to create whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Moving on to bigger games, I love pushing limits within the gaming world.

I have been coaching for almost a decade now, and through the years my greatest joy has been helping other athletes find their love for swimming. In the pool, I feel an overwhelming sense of freedom. The only limitations to success in sports are those that you put on yourself. The sport of swimming has opened a lot of doors for me, and I continue to find new opportunities to keep growing and learning.

Being a part of the LYNO community, I have enjoyed helping other gamers find their own unique style. Every gamer has their own backstory, and through our merch store we have been able to bring a lot of those ideas to life! We all have something we love doing, my goal is to help everyone let their own nerd out!
